# PrintCertificate

Open source library for printing X.509 certificate content

This library provides a a class that extends the Bouncycastle `X509CertificateHolder` class with extended printing capblities.

The output formats offered by this library are:

- Text based print (optimized for monospace or regular fonts)
- Html based print (with customizable css)
- PEM certificate format

This library is used to provide HTML representation of certificates in the Sweden Connect certificate parser 
application at [https://sandbox.swedenconnect.se/cap](https://sandbox.swedenconnect.se/cap)

## Maven

The print-cert artifacts are published to Maven central.

Include the following snippet in your Maven POM to add print-cert as a dependency for your project.

## Usage

Instantiate the class `se.idsec.utils.printcert.PrintCertificate` by any of its constructors;

From byte:

```
byte[] certBytes = ...;
PrintCertificate printCert = new PrintCertificate(certBytes);

```

From X509Certificate:

```
X509Certificate x509Certificate = ...;
PrintCertificate printCert = new PrintCertificate(x509Certificate);

```

From X509CertificateHolder:

```
X509CertificateHolder x509CertificateHolder = ...;
PrintCertificate printCert = new PrintCertificate(x509CertificateHolder);

```

The PrintCertificate objects offers print capabilities using the functions:

- toString() - for text based output
- toHtml() - for html based output
- toPEM() - for a formatted PEM certificate
- toOriginalString() - for the original X509Certificate toString() output
