The git repositories at git.php.net are handled by gitolite.

Import Steps:

  * Deny write access in SVN. Edit SVNROOT/pre-commit
  * Import repository from SVN using svn2git.
  * Change the repo name in global_avail

New Repository:

  * Clone git.php.net:gitolite-admin.git
  * Edit conf/gitolite.conf
     - add your repository to @public, or @web
  * Create the repository on gitweb with the same name.
  * Commit
  * Push
  * Test it

For Webstuff:

  * replace svn checkout on rsync with git checkout
  * edit update-mirrors in systems.git
