From 1857739bfc286ff3e0b448cdaf8f93c3beddd84e Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: buque Date: Sat, 26 Nov 2022 09:47:48 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] Linux: Support __IPC_64 in sysvctl *ctl command arguments (bug 29771) Old applications pass __IPC_64 as part of the command argument because old glibc did not check for unknown commands, and passed through the arguments directly to the kernel, without adding __IPC_64. Applications need to continue doing that for old glibc compatibility, so this commit enables this approach in current glibc. For msgctl and shmctl, if no translation is required, make direct system calls, as we did before the time64 changes. If translation is required, mask __IPC_64 from the command argument. For semctl, the union-in-vararg argument handling means that translation is needed on all architectures --- ...IPC_64-in-sysvctl-ctl-command-argume.patch | 232 ++++++++++++++++++ glibc.spec | 7 +- 2 files changed, 238 insertions(+), 1 deletion(-) create mode 100644 0001-Linux-Support-__IPC_64-in-sysvctl-ctl-command-argume.patch diff --git a/0001-Linux-Support-__IPC_64-in-sysvctl-ctl-command-argume.patch b/0001-Linux-Support-__IPC_64-in-sysvctl-ctl-command-argume.patch new file mode 100644 index 0000000..3e5735f --- /dev/null +++ b/0001-Linux-Support-__IPC_64-in-sysvctl-ctl-command-argume.patch @@ -0,0 +1,232 @@ +From 0f90d6204d79223fd32248c774df0cb7f0e604de Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 +From: Florian Weimer +Date: Tue, 8 Nov 2022 14:15:02 +0100 +Subject: [PATCH] Linux: Support __IPC_64 in sysvctl *ctl command arguments + (bug 29771) + +Old applications pass __IPC_64 as part of the command argument because +old glibc did not check for unknown commands, and passed through the +arguments directly to the kernel, without adding __IPC_64. +Applications need to continue doing that for old glibc compatibility, +so this commit enables this approach in current glibc. + +For msgctl and shmctl, if no translation is required, make +direct system calls, as we did before the time64 changes.
